The Stormlight Archive is an epic fantasy series by Brandon Sanderson, set on the storm-scoured world of Roshar within the wider Cosmere. Planned as ten novels in two arcs, it follows the return of the Knights Radiant and the Desolation brought by the god of hatred, Odium.
Overview
On Roshar, immense highstorms sweep the land and infuse gemstones with Stormlight, the energy that powers both daily life and the magic of Surgebinding. Centuries after the Knights Radiant abandoned their oaths in the Recreance, their orders begin to return as ordinary people bond spren and speak the Ideals. The series weaves the arcs of the soldier Kaladin, the scholar Shallan Davar, and the highprince Dalinar Kholin against the renewed war with Odium and the Fused.

The published novels are The Way of Kings, Words of Radiance, Oathbringer, Rhythm of War, and Wind and Truth, with the novellas Edgedancer and Dawnshard.
Setting
The series takes place chiefly in the kingdoms of Alethkar, Jah Keved, Azir, and Shinovar, with the ancient tower-city of Urithiru and the Shattered Plains as central locations. It is part of the Cosmere, Sanderson's shared universe.
