Jezrien, also rendered Jezerezeh, Yaezir, and known in his madness as Ahu, is the foremost of the ten Heralds in Brandon Sanderson's The Stormlight Archive. He is associated with the divine attributes of protecting and leading and the role of King, and he was regarded as the leader of the Heralds.
Role among the Heralds
As King of the Heralds, Jezrien led the others in their long defense of humanity against the Desolations of Odium. He is venerated in Vorin religion and in other Rosharan faiths under various names, and he is patron of the Windrunners, the order of Knights Radiant whose abilities mirror his own.
The Oathpact and after
Jezrien was among the Heralds who, after the Desolation called Aharietiam, abandoned the Oathpact and left Talenel to bear its burden alone. In the millennia that followed, the surviving Heralds wandered Roshar, many of them increasingly broken in mind by their past torment. Jezrien himself was eventually reduced to a ragged, deranged figure.
Death
With the return of Odium's forces, the Fused gained the means to truly kill a Herald. Jezrien was captured and slain with a special weapon designed to trap and destroy a Herald's soul, a profound loss given his status as the Heralds' king and a sign that even these near-immortal beings could now be permanently destroyed.
