Jezerezeh, or Jezerezeh'Elin, is one of the names by which the Herald Jezrien is known across Roshar in Brandon Sanderson's The Stormlight Archive. Different cultures and faiths of Roshar refer to the same ten Heralds by varying names, and Jezerezeh is among the forms used for the King of the Heralds.
A name for Jezrien
- Main article: Jezrien
The Herald known in Vorin tradition as Jezrien appears in other Rosharan traditions under names including Jezerezeh, Yaezir, and Jezrien'Elin. In some accounts Jezerezeh is described as the wisest of beings and a figure of kingship and storms. All of these refer to the same individual: the leader of the Heralds, patron of the Windrunners, associated with the divine attributes of protecting and leading.
Significance
The existence of multiple names for a single Herald reflects the way the memory of the Heralds fragmented across Roshar's cultures over the thousands of years since the Desolations. As with the other Heralds, Jezerezeh's true history, including his role in abandoning the Oathpact and his eventual death at the hands of the Fused, is recounted under the name Jezrien.
