== Background ==

== The battle ==
Alethi forces, including the bridgemen led by Kaladin, advanced toward Narak in an effort to reach the listeners before the coming highstorm. The clash coincided with the arrival of a terrible new storm, and the listeners who took stormform called down the Everstorm, a red-lightning storm blowing counter to the natural highstorms of Roshar. The convergence of the two storms over the Plains formed a deadly conjunction.

== Aftermath ==
The events at Narak marked a turning point in [[The Stormlight Archive]]: the awakening of the Everstorm heralded the return of [[Odium]]'s power to the world, the transformation of the listeners, and the broader resurgence of the ancient enemy.
