Honor, also worshipped on Roshar as the Almighty, is one of the sixteen Shards of Adonalsium, embodying the divine intent of oaths, bonds, and keeping one's word. Its Vessel was a man named Tanavast. Though Honor was eventually destroyed, its legacy underpins the codes of the Knights Radiant and the spiritual fabric of Roshar.

Nature

As a Shard, Honor embodies the intent of bonds and promises. This intent shaped the cultures and magic of Roshar, where sworn oaths carry literal power. The ideals spoken by the Knights Radiant draw their strength from Honor, and the Nahel bond between a human and a spren echoes Honor's nature as a binder of agreements.

History

Honor and Cultivation came to Roshar together and made it their home. Over the ages they opposed the incursions of Odium, working through the Heralds and the orders of Knights Radiant. The Heralds' Oathpact, which held back the Desolations, was bound up with Honor's power.

In time Honor grew distant and, by some accounts, increasingly fixated and weakened, before Odium succeeded in splintering the Shard, killing its Vessel Tanavast. The Stormfather, the mightiest of spren and the soul of the highstorm, carries fragments of Honor's power and memory and serves as a lingering remnant of the dead god.

Legacy

Even in death, Honor's influence remains central to Roshar. The revival of the Knights Radiant and the rekindling of their sworn ideals draw directly on Honor's intent, and the conflict over whether the storms, oaths, and bonds of Roshar will endure forms a recurring theme of The Stormlight Archive.
